54 free places to give away for dot-art Schools 2021!

54 free places are being given away for this year’s dot-art Schools programme

A new giveaway is offering schools across the Liverpool City Region the opportunity to win a place on the ninth annual dot-art Schools programme. The art programme has been developed to nurture children and young peoples’ creativity and boost their confidence by providing an interactive inter-school art competition. The competition presents children with the incentive of having their work displayed online, as well as at an end of year exhibition featuring the top students from participating schools.

With the classroom looking a lot different this year due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, a study carried out by Hope University and Curious Minds showed that taking part in the dot-art Schools programme can nurture children and young people. The programme helps children by providing them with a boost in confidence, helping them to gain a greater sense of self-respect, as well as raising their aspirations.  To celebrate local talent, dot-art are giving primary, secondary and SEN schools across the Liverpool City Region the chance to win one of 54 free school places.

Winners of the FREE places will be selected from each borough in the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, Halton and St Helens). The places usually cost £150 plus VAT per school and have been funded by Arts Council England and DCMS through the Cultural Recovery Fund.

The dot-art Schools Programme was established in 2012 in response to demand from local schools and the side-lining of the arts in the curriculum and to date over 8,000 children from 481 schools have taken part.

Only schools that have not previously taken part are eligible to enter the giveaway to receive one of the 54 free places. Entries must be made before 17th December 2020. To find out more about the giveaway and to enter, email schools@dot-art.com with GIVEAWAY in the subject title. But hurry, its first come, first served!

All schools can participate in the competition and registration is open.
