St Michael with St Thomas CE Primary School is a one form entry primary school which caters for children from 4yrs to 11yrs. We are part of the Three Saints Academy Trust, and work closely with our partner schools to build excellence in all areas. Our Art and Design curriculum provides visual, tactile and sensory experiences and provides children with a unique way of understanding and responding to the world. Through the key concepts of line, shape, form, space, colour, tone, texture and pattern as well as through the use of different materials and processes, children communicate what they see, feel and think. Our Year 5 class have loved working in a variety of media to create a portfolio of imaginative and creative work. They were inspired by well known artists and the natural world around them and it has been wonderful to see them work independently and gain confidence in expressing themselves through art. Once the children's portfolios were completed, they each selected their favourite piece to submit to the competition. The experience of schools.dot-art has enabled the children to enhance their creative skills but most importantly their freedom of expression and acceptance that art is uniquely individual to each and every one of them.
