dot-art Schools Exhibition Liverpool 2019

Following a judges’ shortlist and an online public vote, the 2019 exhibition showcased the winning work from each participating school. The overall winners of the 2019 dot-art Schools Competition were announced at a prize-giving ceremony on 18th June at the Liverpool School of Art And Design at LJMU, where the top three students from each of the participating schools in the Liverpool City Region were presented with a certificate by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Pete Brennan, and the six overall winners and runners up received their prizes.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Earl Cabije from Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School won the Year 9 award for his piece “Portrait of Earl”.

Dana from Belle Vale Primary School won the Year 5 award for her piece “The Dark Eye”.

Runners Up Awards in the secondary category were presented to Grace Johnson from Rainhill High School and Keeley Mullen of St Chad’s Catholic & CoE High School.

In the primary category Runners Up Awards were presented to Lewis Blackham of St Anne’s Stanley CoE Primary School and Lily-Mai of Eaves Primary School.

The winners were awarded a variety of prizes from Tate Liverpool, the Albert Dock, Rennies Art Supplies, Cass Art and Tangle Teezer. In addition, as overall winner, Earl received a scholarship to dot-art, giving him a year’s membership to dot-art’s network, allowing him to showcase and sell his work alongside professional artists.

A wonderful LJMU Scholarship prize was also announced by Professor Caroline Wilkinson, which will provide £1000 per year for 3 years toward course fees for the Year 9 winner if they take up a course within the Arts Faculty.
