dot-art Schools is an inclusive programme and we actively encourage SEND schools and Alternative Provision providers to take part. All young people who enter are considered together, with no differentiation or special consideration in place.

• We brief the judging panel to consider all shortlisted pupils’ entries using the same criteria.

• SEND settings report that pupils who participate appreciate being included and judged in the same way as mainstream pupils.

• Attending the celebration event can be challenging for some pupils however others find it gives a real boost to their confidence, and staff report improved levels of that pupils engagement in class afterwards as a result.
