Harmonize Academy is an alternative provision school where there is a big emphasis on Personal Development. Within the subject we encourage students to engage in art as a means of relaxation, exploration and as a creative outlet where students are encouraged to try a variety of art forms. The year nine students are encouraged to explore a range of techniques by looking at works by famous artists, from Picasso and Van Gogh to Edward Munch and Roy Lichtenstein. Students are enabled to explore a variety of themes based on their personal interests as well as subject matter that we cover in lessons. This years entries highlight students interest in Hip Hop music, the comic book/Pop Art style of Art we looked at as well as the Black Lives Matter movement which we covered in depth in our personal development lessons.
