School Champion

There is something very special about Kirkby Church of England Primary School. Our values reflect a distinctive Christian character and are epitomised by our school mascot “CofE the Caterpillar” featuring Respect, Love, Caring, Friendship and Forgiveness. Our aim is that we all work together to make Kirkby CE a safe, happy and fun place to learn. Year 5 have made close cross curricular links with History topic WW2 and created mixed media work influenced by Paul Nash; who not only was a British surrealist landscape painter but also a war artist using his own real life sketches from his time at war. Year 5 also looked at Martha Rosler, a contemporary American artist achieving world wide recognition with her photomontages, using a collage technique with photography. The children have created a piece of art work through the eyes of an evacuee.
