At Lister, we value Art in all forms - be it performance, visual, physical or musical. We are always looking to try new styles and media, and we actively encourage our pupils to explore the arts out of school and share their creativity and experiences with their peers in school.
As a school, we focus on six values that we want to instil in the children and have them demonstrate on a daily basis. These values are: Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, Community, Truthfulness and Enthusiasm. We believe these values important for our children to be both active learners and members of their wider communities. Teaching and learning is matched to children’s physical, mental, social, spiritual, moral and cultural development needs.
All children benefit from a rich, broad, balanced curriculum that is presented in an interesting, exciting and imaginative manner with lots of opportunities for first-hand experience, practical work, and investigation. The curriculum is enlivened and enriched by visits, visitors, and extensive use of the environment. The creative aspects, including art, poetry, story, dance, music and performance, are central to our work.
Respect for all. Learners for Life.
