At Maghull High School we believe that art can be a driver for change. Engaging in a high quality art education can allow students to understand different cultures, circumstances and contexts from their own. We empower our students to act with compassion as they explore the world around them through the study of a range of artists and artworks. The department teach from KS3-5, with students being taught a wide range of skills including ceramics, drawing, painting, print-making, digital art and textiles. We encourage young people to be inquisitive, disciplined and determined; wherever their start in life. We believe that alongside literacy and numeracy, another skill needed in our workforce today is creativity, as cultural education can help young people to unlock their innate creativity, enabling them to become more rounded and confident people.

Our expert judging panel select the top three artworks from each school in March.
Then you can Vote online for your favourite shortlisted piece in April. The shortlisted entry from each school with the most votes wins a place in the public exhibition in June.
