Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is for children from 3-11 years old with 345 pupils on roll. Our mission statement is “Loving and learning together on our journey following Jesus, with Mary as our guiding star.” We have recently created an art studio where art lessons take place. The art has been woven into other subjects, creating curriculum connectors and an inspiring, creative overall curriculum for each year group. The art studio has had a huge impact on the children’s well being, perseverance, art skills, love of the arts, creativity and confidence. For this half term’s project, the year 5 children have linked their art work with history, exploring Greek Gods and Goddesses. The outcomes are inspired by the work of Victoria Topping. We are so proud of the children and their work.
