St. Bede's Catholic Junior School is situated in Widnes and home to approximately 300 pupils. Art and design is celebrated here: pupils are encouraged to develop, practise and refine skills across a range of mediums (including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, textiles, sculpture and digital media), study and respond critically to the work of both 'great' and contemporary artists, and - through experimentation - develop a personal style of working. Every year, pupils may elect to take part in a number of extra-curricular arts clubs; Year 5 pupils may choose to attend a 'Dot Art Club', where they produce work for the schools competition. Over a school term, pupils produce a range of different original works and, later, select their favourite for submission. St. Bede's Junior School has participated in the dot-art Schools competition for many years and we are delighted to be taking part again!
