St. Julie's Catholic High School is a Notre Dame school whose mission statement is lived out each day under the guidance of the school's patron saint St Julie Billiart, the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame. St. Julie's is a voluntary aided Roman Catholic secondary school, predominantly for girls with boys admitted into sixth form. : The topic for this artwork was 'Environmental Issues'. Students discovered the importance and purpose of art in society and how it can be used as a tool to communicate their views and opinions on social and environmental issues. They researched the issue of decreasing bee numbers and created a mixed media response drawing inspiration from the contemporary artist Gemma Hare.
